The Roadmap: Romania

Cardiomyopathies have historically received limited policy attention, despite imposing significant disease burdens that could potentially be mitigated through improved healthcare measures. However, the situation in Romania presents a more promising outlook, with healthcare authorities currently considering to implement a National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular Diseases.

The Romanian Cardiomyopathies Matter Roadmap aims to increase awareness and provide education on the impact of cardiomyopathy from human, social, and economic perspectives. It advocates for concrete measures and heightened focus, including the inclusion of a dedicated chapter on cardiomyopathies within the National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular Diseases.

Launched in April 2024, the Romanian Cardiomyopathies Matter Roadmap has garnered endorsements from prominent key opinion leaders within The National Medical Society on Cardiology, The Foundation of Cardiologists, as well as the National Sport Agency and various sports federations.
