On 12 November, the Cardiomyopathies Matter 2024 Summit took place, gathering policymakers, leading healthcare experts, and patient advocates to discuss how the European Union and national governments can tackle cardiomyopathies and other inherited conditions as part of their heart health policies. Speakers highlighted why and how European and national cardiovascular health plans should specifically address inherited cardiac diseases.
The event also served as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the various Cardiomyopathies Matter’s chapters in-country.
Key speakers at the Summit included MEP Tomislav Sokol, Spanish health attaché Enrique Terol, European Society of Cardiology Advocacy Director James Kennedy, alongside cardiomyopathy patient representatives and cardiologists from across Europe.
